Some days ago, one of my friends could not see folder options in tools in windows XP. He wanted to make some changes to the folder options, so that he could see hidden files.

This is a very simple trick that can be done by just making some changes in Windows Group Policy Editor.

Follow the step and enable or disable the "Folder Options" in tools in windows Xp.

Step 1: Click on 'Start' button > Go to Run and type: gpedit.msc

It results in a window just like the following image.

Now, In this window, navigate to;

User Configuration >> Administrative Templates >> Windows Components >> Windows Explorer

Search for a key named "Removes the Folder Options menu from the Tools Menu". Double-click the key or press right click and select properties. A pop up box appears. It has 3 option.

1. Not Configured.
2. Enabled
3. Disabled.

Now select of the first two options as per your need. If you want to show this menu, select option 1 i.e. Not configured. Otherwise select option 2 (Enabled) to hide the "Folder Options" from Tools in windows... and you are done.

Hope this Windows XP trick was helpful. Share you expriences or ask questions by just leaving a comment below.
